You can install either of these, or both if youwish. Which driver you choose depends on your application.• If you use TrueType fonts and you do not print PostScript(including “.eps” files) graphics, choose the PCL driver. This ismore efficient and give good results.• If you use PostScript fonts or print PostScript graphics, choosethe PostScript driver. In this situation, performance is faster andgraphics are printed at their best quality.If neither driver seems to cover all your needs, you should installboth drivers. Select the same printer port (LPT1 or Network Port)for both drivers during the installation.Set the driver you plan to use most of the time to be your Windowsdefault driver. Most applications allow you to choose a differentprinter from within the print dialog, so you can use the alternativedriver for printing whenever you need to.NOTEThe line art graphics in this manual are PostScript.If you plan to print parts of this manual, choose thePostScript driver.
