99 Open the Straight-Through Exit□ Print out the Demo page:a Press Menu repeatedly until INFORMATION MENUappears.b Press ITEM - repeatedly until DEMO1 displays.c Press Select.The Demo page prints. The printer goes back online.11 Print the Demo Page10 Connect to Power□ Attach the power cord to theleft side of printer.! Be sure to use the cablesupplied with the printer.□ Connect togrounded powersocket.□ Turn the printer on and wait for it to warm up.The display will read ONLINE .AUTOTRAY1Normally the printer feeds documents facedown into the top exit tray. If you will beprinting special media such as transparencies,thick paper or labels, open thestraight-through exit path, then specify it inthe driver when you are printing on specialmedia (see “Selecting the Straight-ThroughExit Path in the Driver” under Exit Paths inthe on-line User’s Guide).If you always want to use the straight-throughexit, you can set it as the default (seeChanging the Default Exit Path in the on-lineUser’s Guide).To open the straight-through exit, pull the tray downand pivot out the extenders.
