CHAPTER 2 OPERATIONPrecautions for Setting the Paper1. Always use a good quality paper (standard pound paper) of 60 to 90g/m2 (16 to 24 pound) weight.2. The Cut-Sheet Feeder can accommodate a paper stack of up to 16 mmin total thickness (170 sheets of 16 lb paper).3. A single solid sheet can be handled. Do not use multiple-part paper.4. Always load paper of the same weight into one hopper to make surethe sheets feed properly.5. Do not use folded, dog-eared, creased or distorted sheets.6. Do not feed sheets of several different sizes at the same time.7. Set sheets properly into the hopper to bring the lowermost sheet intocontact with the stopper.8. When the paper set lever is turned to the "SET" position, make surethe right and left stoppers are firmly on the paper. The paper set levermust be gently turned toward the "SET" position to prevent thestopper from flipping the sheets out of place.9. Do not leave paper in the hopper for a long time. The sheets may curldue to change in temperature or humidity.10. Store packed paper on a flat surface in a cool, dry place until needed.After a package is opened, store the unused paper in a plastic bag toprotect it from humidity.
