12Charging the battery1 Connect the AC cableplug to the AC inputconnector on the charger.2 Plug the AC power cordinto an AC power outlet.3 Place the battery on the battery charger and slide itin until you hear a click.● The charging indicator may blink for an instant (lessthan one second) when the battery is inserted or justbefore charging is complete. However, this is normaland merely shows that the charger is communicatingwith the battery.To home AC outletNotesIn the following cases, it should be assumed that thisproduct is out of order. Unplug the AC power cordimmediately and consult your local Olympusrepresentative.● Charging has not finished after six hours.● The red or green charging indicator blinks after severalcharges.Terminal● Check the battery's status by the color of thecharging indicator.Chargingindicator colorOrangeGreenRedCharging indicatorconditionLit.Lit.Blinking.Blinking.Battery statusCharging iscontinuingnormally.Charging iscomplete.An error hasoccurred.*Too muchcharging time haspassed. Thebattery hasweakened or isdefective.** Remove the battery immediately. If the battery can notbe fully charged under normal operating conditions, thenit is most likely defective. Replace the battery with anew one.
