3ENMenu setting methodDividing files [File Divide]Files with large capacities and longrecording times can be divide so that theyare easier to manage and edit.1 Select the file you want to divide(☞ P.54 to P.60).2 Start Playback or fast-forwardthe file, and stop the playback atdivide position.• In the file display, the stop positionbecomes the divide position.• During playback, press and hold the9 or 0 button to fast-forwardor rewind (☞ P.48).• It is useful to set index marks onmarking in advance at the divideposition (☞ P.52).3 Select [File Divide] from the menuon the [File Menu].• For details on how to enter the menusettings, please see “Menu settingmethod” (☞ P.66).• A file cannot be divide during anoperation such as playback by therecorder.4 Press the + button to select[Start], and then press the `OKbutton.• [Dividing!] will be displayed andfile splitting will start. Splittingis completed when [File dividecompleted] is displayed.Notes• The file divide cannot be done when thefile list is displayed.• The recorder cannot divide files when thenumber of files in the folder exceeds 998.• Locked files (☞ P.76) cannot be divide.• After a file has been divide, the original filewill be renamed [File name_1.wav] andthe new file will be named [File name_2.wav].• If a file has an extremely short recordingtime, it may not be divide even if it is aPCM file.• Do not remove the battery during dividingfile.
