29EnShootingAE lockThe metered exposure value can be locked with the AEL button (AE lock). Use AElock when you want a different exposure setting from the one that would normallyapply under the current shooting conditions.Normally, pressing the shutter button halfway locks both AF (auto focus) and AE(automatic exposure), but you can lock the exposure alone by pressing AEL. The AEand AF lock functions can be customized on this camera.AE bracketingThe camera automatically shoots a number of pictures at different exposure values foreach frame. Even in conditions where correct exposure is difficult to obtain (such as abacklit subject or a scene at dusk), you can pick the picture you prefer from a selectednumber of frames with a variety of different exposure settings (exposure andcompensation values).The pictures are taken in the following order: Picture withoptimum exposure, picture adjusted in – direction, and picture adjusted in + direction.Compensation value : 0.3, 0.7 or 1.0The exposure compensation values depend on the EV step interval setting that canbe changed in the menu.Number of frames : 3 or 5Drive modeThe following drive modes are available with this camera.Single-frame shooting : Shoots 1 frame at a time when the shutter button is(no indication) pressed. (Normal shooting mode, single-frameshooting)Sequential shooting : Shoots 12 frames at 3 frames/sec. for as long asthe shutter button pressed.Focus and exposure arelocked at the first frame.Self-timer shooting : Triggers the shutter after a set time, either 12 sec. or2 sec.Remote control shooting : Shoots using the optional remote control.
