Portrait ModeIn this mode, the camera chooses a wideaperture for a shallow depth of field. Thisresults in a softly blurred subjectbackground, against which your subjectstands out in sharp focus. This mode alsoprevents camera-shake from happeningbecause a faster shutter speed is selected.Night Scene ModeAllows you to capture beautiful nighttime scenesjust as they are. The camera automaticallyadjusts exposure compensation for optimum nightscene photography — extending exposure timefor up to 4 seconds (ISO100). When shooting asubject against a nighttime background, use ofthe flash is recommended. In this case, thecamera optimizes exposure compensation forboth the subject and the background. TheLong Time mode is ideal for this type of shotsince it allows you to choose a shutter speed ofup to 60 seconds with a fixed aperture of F8.Since the selected shutter speed will be veryslow, use of a tripod is recommended to preventblurring.50
