443Basic shooting functionsRecording moviesThis function allows you to record movies.During recording, the correct exposure is automatically maintained even ifthe subject moves, but the focus and zoom are locked. If the distance tothe subject changes, you may lose focus.1 Compose your picture.• The remaining recording time isdisplayed on the monitor.• You can use the zoom button to enlargeyour subject.2 Press the shutter button fully tostart recording.• Audio is recorded with the movie.• The card access lamp blinks while themovie is being saved.• During movie recording, the A marklights red.3 Press the shutter button again tostop recording.• When the remaining recording time has been used up, recording stopsautomatically.• When there is space in the internal memory or the card, the remainingrecording time (P. 27) is displayed, and the camera is ready to shoot.TIPSTo use the zoom during movie recordingjSet [DIGITAL ZOOM] to [ON]. g“Using the digital zoom” (P. 39)Note• The remaining recording time may drop rapidly during recording.
