7.1 Troubleshooting guide65UCR INSTRUCTION MANUALCh.7Chapter 7 TroubleshootingIf the endoscopic CO 2 regulation unit is visibly damaged, does not function as expected or is found tohave other irregularities during the inspection described in Chapter 3, “Installation and Connection”and Chapter 4, “Inspection”, or the use described in Chapter 5, “Operation”, do not use the endoscopicCO 2 regulation unit; contact Olympus. Some problems that appear to be malfunctions may becorrectable by referring to Section 7.1, “Troubleshooting guide”. If the problem cannot be resolved bythe described remedial action, stop using the instrument and contact Olympus. Endoscopic CO2 regulation unit (UCR)7.1 Troubleshooting guideIrregularity description Possible cause SolutionUCR is not supplied with power. The power cord plug is notconnected.Connect the power cord plug.The power switch is not set to ON. Set the power switch to ON.The indicators on the front panel donot light.The power cord plug is notconnected.Connect the power cord plug.The power switch is not set to ON. Set the power switch to ON.Insufflation is not possible. The start/stop switch is not pressed. Confirm that the green LED on thestart/stop switch is lit. If it is not lit,press the start/stop switch.The gas cylinder valve is closed. Open the valve.The cylinder hose for UCR is notconnected.Connect the cylinder hose correctly.The medical gas pipeline hose is notconnected.Connect the medical gas pipelinehose correctly.The medical gas pipeline pressureis too low.Check the pressure of the gassupply source.The gas tube is not connected. Connect the gas tube.The gas tube is collapsed. Correct the collapsed area.A hole is in the gas tube. Replace the tube with a new one.The gas cylinder is not in an uprightposition.Place the gas cylinder in an uprightposition. Turn the endoscopic CO 2regulation unit on and wait5 minutes or more before operating.
