18Mounting the camera on a tripodUse the tripod attachment, available as an optionalaccessory, to mount the camera on a tripod.1 Mount the tripod attachment on the tripod.Select the appropriate holes from among the holeson the bottom of tripod attachment dependingon where the centre of gravity of the camera andtripod attachment falls. If the holes selected arenot appropriate, the centre of gravity will not besupported, as a result of which the camera maydrop off or fall over, which in turn may possiblycause injury.Check that the diameter of the holes selectedfor mounting matches the diameter of the screwholes of the tripod platform. If these diameters donot correspond, the tripod attachment will not besecured properly, as a result of which the cameramay drop off or fall over, which in turn may possiblycause injury.NoteTripod platformTripod attachment2 Mount the camera on the tripod attachment. Slide thecamera toward the front along the groove until a click isheard.Now check that the camera is secured properly.Detaching the camera from the tripod attachmentWhile pushing the red lever, move the black lever in thedirection of the arrow, and slide the camera toward theback.Red leverTripod attachmentBlack leverIf the pin of the tripod attachment fails to return to itsoriginal position after the camera has been detached,push the red lever again and simultaneously move theblack lever in the direction of the arrow to return the pinto its original position.Bear in mind that the camera cannot be mounted if thepin still remains at the centre.Concerning the steps for ensuring that thecamera does not slip or drop out of positionWhen installing the camera on a crane or at someother position high above the floor or ground, firstcheck that the crane can bear the weight of the entiresystem including the camera, lens and connectingcables, and then use the specified tools to install thecamera securely.Be absolutely sure to ensure that the camera will notdrop from its position by looping an anti-drop wirearound its handle and securing the end of the wire at apoint above the camera, as shown in the figure below.NoteAnti-drop wire
