This is completely nor-mal.z Recharging will not commence if internal tempera-ture of the battery pack is outside of the allowabletemperature range (0 °C to 55 °C {32 °F to 131°F}). (Î Reference Manual “Battery Power”)Once the allowable range requirement is satisfied, charging begins automatically. Note that therecharging time varies based on the usage condi-tions. (Recharging takes longer than usual whenthe temperature is 10 °C {50 °F} or below.)z If the temperature is low, the operating time isshortened. Only use the computer within theallowable temperature range.z The battery pack is a consumable item. If theamount of time the computer can be run by using aparticular battery pack becomes dramaticallyshorter and repeated recharging does not restoreits performance, the battery pack should bereplaced with a new one.z When transporting a spare battery inside a pack-age, briefcase, etc., it is recommended that it beplaced in a plastic bag so that its contacts are pro-tected.z Always power off the computer when it is not inuse.
