– 36 –CS-MA90KE6 Gas charging(After Evacuation)Procedure:(1) Connect the charge hose to the charging cyl-inder.l Connect the charge hose which you disconnected fromthe vacuum pump to the valve at the bottom of thecylinder.(2) Purge the air from the charge hose.l Open the valve at the bottom of the cylinder and press thecheck valve on the charge set to purge the air (be carefulof the liquid refrigerant).(3) Open the valve (Low side) on the charge set andcharge the system with liquid refrigerant.l If the system cannot be charged with the specifiedamount of refrigerant, it can be charged with a little ata time (approximately 150 g each time) while operatingthe air conditioner in the cooling cycle; however, onetime is not sufficient, wait approximately 1 minute andthen repeat the procedure. Becauseyou are charging with liquid refrigerant from the gasside, absolutely do not attempt to charge with largeamount of liquid refrigerant while operating the airconditioner.(4) Immediately disconnect the charge hose from the3-way valve's service port.- Stopping partway will allow the refrigerant to be dis-charged.- If the system has been charged with liquid refrigerantwhile operating the air conditioner, turn off the air condi-tioner before disconnecting the hose.(5) Mount the valve stem caps and the service portcap.l Use torque wrench to tighten the service port cap to atorque of 18 N•m.l Be sure to check for gas leakage.
