How to Install the Indoor Unit3-1. Preparation for SuspendingThis unit uses a drain pump. Use a carpenter’s level tocheck that the unit is level.3-2. Suspending the Indoor Unit(1) Fix the suspension bolts securely in the ceiling usingthe method shown in the diagrams, by attachingthem to the ceiling support structure, or by any othermethod that ensures that the unit will be securelyand safely suspended. (Fig. 6-1)(2) Follow the diagram to make the holes in the ceiling.(3) Determine the pitch of the suspension bolts usingthe supplied full-scale installation diagram. The dia-gram shows the relationship between the positionsof the suspension fitting, unit, and panel. (Fig. 6-2)3-3. Placing the Unit Inside the Ceiling(1) Be sure to remove the fan protection (4pcs) fortransportation before hanging up the indoor unit.(2) When placing the unit inside the ceiling, determinethe pitch of the suspension bolts using the suppliedfull-scale installation diagram. (Fig. 6-3)Tubing and wiring must be laid inside the ceilingwhen suspending the unit. If the ceiling is alreadyconstructed, lay the tubing and wiring into positionfor connection to the unit before placing the unitinside the ceiling.(3) The length of suspension bolts must be appropriatefor a distance between the bottom of the bolt and thebottom of the unit of more than 19/32" (15 mm) asshown in the diagram. (Fig. 6-3)(4) Thread the 3 hexagonal nuts (locally purchased) and2 supplied washers onto each of the 4 suspensionbolts as shown in the diagram. Use 1 nut and 1washer for the upper side, and 2 nuts and 1 washerfor the lower side, so that the unit will not fall off thesuspension lugs. (Fig. 6-4)(5) Adjust so that the distance between the unit and theceiling bottom is 1/2" (13 mm) to 23/32" (18 mm).Tighten the nuts on the upper side and lower side ofthe suspension lug.
