47≥When the AC adaptor is in use, it maygenerate whirring sounds. This is normal.≥After use, be sure to disconnect the ACAdaptor from the AC Main socket. (If it isleft connected, about 0.3 W of current isconsumed at most.)≥Keep the electrodes of the AC Adaptorclean at all times.ª About the BatteryBattery characteristicsA lithium ion battery is a small-sized batterywith large capacity. However, when it iscooled down due to the low temperature(50oF (10oC) or less), the operating timebecomes short by its characteristics and itmay not operate properly. In this case, warm the battery moderately (e.g. in apocket) and then insert it just before youuse the Camera. (When using a bodywarmer, be careful that it does not directlytouch the battery.)Be sure to detach the battery after use.≥If it is left attached to this unit, a minuteamount of current is consumed even whenthis unit power is off. If it is left for a longtime, over discharge takes place. Thebattery may become unusable even afterit is charged.Have spare batteries on hand when youuse this unit outdoors.≥In a cold place, the recordable time will beshorter.≥When you travel, be sure to bring thesupplied AC adaptor for charging in theplace you are visiting. If the battery is dropped, check that theterminal is not deformed.≥If the battery attached to this unit with theterminal is deformed, it may damage thebody of SD Video Camera.Be sure to pull out the battery and thecard, disconnect the plug after use.≥Store the battery in a cool and dry placewith a relatively stable temperature.(recommended temperature: 59 to 77°F(15 to 25oC), recommended humidity:40 to 60%)≥Extremely high or low temperatures willshorten the life of the battery.≥If the battery is kept in hot, humid, smokyor dusty places, the terminals may rustand cause malfunctions.≥Store the battery in a completelydischarged state. To store the battery for along period of time, we recommendcharging it once every year and storing itagain after you completely use up thecharged capacity.Do not throw the battery into a fire.≥If you heat or burn the battery, it maycause an explosion.≥The battery has a limited life.If the operating time is drasticallyshortened even after charging, the life hasexpired. Replace it with a new battery.ª CondensationWhen using the camera outdoors duringvery cold weather, dew can be formed onthe camera and the lens when you return toa warm place. If condensation takes place, the lens maybe fogged or the camera may not properlyoperate. Take care not to causecondensation and take the appropriatecountermeasures.Causes of condensationDifferences in temperature and humidity asshown below cause condensation.≥When this unit is brought into a warmroom from outdoors in the cold.≥When this unit is brought inside a car fromoutside.≥When warming a cold room suddenly.≥When cool air from an air conditioner isdirectly blowing on the unit.≥When the place is humid. When condensation has taken place:≥Turn the power off and leave this unit inthis condition for about 1 hour. When thecamera becomes close to the ambienttemperature, the fog disappears naturally.≥When you move this unit from a cold placeto a warm place, enclose the camera in aplastic bag, wait until the camera iswarmed, and then take it out of the bag.
