66Motion PictureVQT5H82 (ENG)Using Advanced Settings and RecordingFunctions for Motion PicturesYou can set the luminance range for motion pictures. When you combine multiplematerials into a single motion picture, set a range that covers all materials.Settings: [0s255]/[16s235]/[16s255]• This function works only for motion pictures. Still pictures (including those you take duringmotion picture recording) will be taken with [0s255].• When [Rec Format] is set to [AVCHD] or [MP4], [0-255] in [Luminance Level] will switch to [16-255].You can check areas that may be white saturated by displaying areas above a certainluminance level in a zebra pattern. You can also set the minimum luminance level(brightness) to be processed as a zebra pattern.• If there are any white saturated areas, we recommend compensating the exposure towardsnegative (P54) referring to the histogram (P105) and then taking the picture.• Displayed zebra patterns will not be recorded.[Luminance Level]Applicable modes:> [Motion Picture] > [Luminance Level]Checking areas that may be white saturated ([Zebra Pattern])Applicable modes:> [Custom] > [Zebra Pattern][ZEBRA1]Displays areas above a certain luminance level by aright-leaning zebra pattern.[ZEBRA2]Displays areas above a certain luminance level by aleft-leaning zebra pattern.[OFF] —[SET]Sets the minimum brightness level for each zebra pattern.[Zebra 1]/[Zebra 2]Press 3/4 to select the brightness, and press [MENU/SET].• You can select a brightness value between [50%] and [105%]. In [Zebra 2], youcan select [OFF]. If you select [100%] or [105%], only the areas that arealready white saturated are displayed in a zebra pattern. The smaller the valueis, the wider the brightness range to be processed as a zebra pattern will be.MENUMENU
