Convenient functionsVQT2J7077∫ Settings for Recording¾ Recording time in EP modeSelect the maximum number of hours for recording inEP mode (> 101, Recording modes and approximaterecording times).≥When recording to DVD-RAM using “8 hours” mode, itmay not be possible to play on DVD players.¾ Aspect for RecordingSets the aspect ratio when recording or copying exceptin DR mode.≥If “Automatic” is selected, the title will be recordedwith the original aspect ratio at the time whenrecording started (including when recording started ata commercial, etc.).≥In the following cases, the programme will berecorded with the original aspect ratio.– [BD-RE] [BD-R] When the recording mode is set to“XP”, “SP”, “LP”, “EP” or “FR”– [HDD] [RAM] When the recording mode is set to “XP”,“SP”, “LP”, “EP” or “FR” with the “Rec for HighSpeed Copy” set to “Off”≥In the following cases, aspect is fixed to 4:3.– [-R] [-R]DL] [-RW‹V›] When the recording mode is setto “EP” or “FR (recordings 5 hours or longer)” mode.– When recording to a +R, +R DL and +RW.¾ Rec for High Speed CopyYou can copy titles to DVD in high speed mode, if youset to “On” when recording a programme.≥This setting is valid for the following cases:– Recording from external equipment (including DVequipment)– Copying from a finalised DVD-Video disc≥If high speed copy is not necessary we recommendsetting to “Off” as the following restrictions are appliedto recorded titles in case of “On”.– The settings in “Aspect for Recording” (> above)and in “Bilingual Audio Selection” (> 78) are appliedto titles.– You cannot switch the audio when watching aprogramme via AV input.¾ BD / DVD Speed for High Speed CopySelect the speed of high-speed copying.If “Normal ( Silent )” is selected, the time required forcopying will double (approximately).¾ Timer Record Start BufferThis function sets the timer recording to start earlierthan the TV Guide time.¾ Timer Record Stop BufferThis function sets the timer recording to stop later thanthe TV Guide time.∫ HDD ManagementPress and hold [OK] for 3 seconds to show the followingsettings.¾ Delete all titlesDelete does not work if one or more titles are protected.¾ Format HDDFormatting deletes all contents, and they cannot berestored. Check carefully before proceeding.
