If you are in doubt about some of the checkpoints, or if the solutions indicated in the chart do not solve the problem, consult your dealer forinstructions. (Reference pages are shown in parentheses.)The following do not indicate malfunction.≥Sound from the AC adaptor during recharging.≥The battery pack warming up when recharging or during use.≥The surface and area around the unit becoming warm when used for long periods.No power. ≥ Check connections to the AC adaptor or battery pack. (6)≥ You cannot turn on the unit with the remote control if the unit ispowered by the battery pack.≥ The unit has protection circuitry that is activated if it becomes too hot or toocold. The unit will not work if this occurs. Use the unit between 5 oC and 35 oC.Unit turns offautomatically.≥ The unit turns off after it has been stopped for about 15 minutes (5 minutes whenthe unit is powered by the battery pack) to conserve power. Turn the unit on again.≥ The sleep timer functioned. (15)Cannot charge or the[CHG] indicator fails tolight.≥ The battery pack can only be recharged when the unit is off.≥ The charging time increases when the temperature is too hot or toocold, and charging may not be possible under some circumstances.≥ Check connections to the AC adaptor or battery pack. (6)Play time dramaticallyreduced after recharging.≥ The battery pack has reached the end of its service life (It can berecharged about 300 times).Difficulty inserting the plugor the plug is loose whenconnecting Car DC Adaptor.≥ Set the plug switch to “N” (Narrow) or “W” (Wide) to adjust the plugsize depending on the type of socket. (30)No response when anybuttons pressed.≥ This unit cannot play discs or cards other than the ones listed inthese operating instructions. (8, 9)≥ The unit may not be operating properly due to lightning, staticelectricity or some other external factor. Turn the unit off and thenback to ON. Alternatively, turn the unit off, disconnect the powersource (AC or battery pack), and then reconnect it.≥ Condensation has formed: Wait 1 to 2 hours for it to evaporate.≥ Please insert the disc or the card correctly. (10, 12)No response whenremote control buttonspressed.≥ Check that the battery is installed correctly. (7)≥ The battery is depleted: Replace it with new one. (7)≥ Point the remote control at the remote control sensor and operate. (7)You have forgotten yourratings password. ≥ While stopped, press and hold [:] and [;] on the unit and thenalso press and hold [1, ON] on the unit until “Initialised” disappearsfrom the screen. Turn the unit off and on again. All settings will returnto the default values.No picture or sound. ≥ Check that the disc has something recorded on it.The contents of the SDcard cannot be read.≥ The card format is not compatible with the unit. (The contents on thecard may be damaged.) Format using a Panasonic SD multi camera,DVD recorder or similar device in FAT 12 system or FAT 16 systembased on SD Memory Card specifications. (9)≥ The card contains a folder structure and/or file extensions that arenot compatible with this unit.It takes time before playstarts.≥ Play may take time to begin when an MP3 track has still picture data. Even afterthe track starts, the correct play time will not be displayed; however, this is normal.≥ This is normal on DivX video.The program and random playfunctions do not work.
