23Playing a DivX® discABOUT DIVX VIDEO:DivX® is a digital video format created byDivX, Inc. This is an offi cial DivX Certifieddevice that plays DivX video. Visit www.divx.com for more information andsoftware tools to convert your fi les intoDivX video.1 Load a DivX disc.The data disc menu appears on theTV screen.2 Press w q to select the menu and pressOK.3 Press e r to select the folder, and pressOK.4 Press e r to select a fi le, and pressPLAY/PAUSE q/h.Playback will start.ABOUT DIVX VIDEO-ON-DEMAND:This DivX Certified® device must beregistered in order to play DivX Video-on-Demand (VOD) content.To generate the registration code, locatethe DivX VOD section in the device setupmenu.Go to vod.divx.com with this code tocomplete the registration process andlearn more about DivX VOD.You can only play DivX videos thatwere rented or purchased with the DivXregistration code of this DVD player.For details, DVD Menu Options >{DivX(R) VOD} (Î page 29).Regarding DivX VOD content that canonly be played a set number of timesSome DivX VOD content can only be playeda set number of times. When you play thiscontent, the remaining number of playsis displayed. You cannot play this contentwhen the number of remaining plays is zero.ÎÎ–The remaining number of playsdecreases each time a program isplayed. However, when playing fromthe point where play was previouslystopped, the remaining number ofplays does not decrease due to theresume play function.Displaying subtitles text(For the United Kingdom and Republicof Ireland only)You can display subtitles text onto theDivX video disc on this unit. This functionhas no relation to the subtitles specifiedin DivX standard specifications and hasno clear standard. The operation mightbe different or it may not operate properlydepending on the way the fi le was madeor the state of this unit (playing, stopped,etc.). See Subtitles (Î page 21).Tip:Subtitle files with the followingfilename extensions (.srt, .sub, .txt)are supported but do not appear onthe file selection menu.The subtitle file name has to be savedunder the same file name as themovie in the same folder.If the subtitle does not appearcorrectly, change the subtitle language.For details, DVD Menu Options >{DivX Subtitle} (Î page 27).––––Playback FeaturesTips: The operating features described here might not be possible for certain discs.Always refer to the instructions supplied with the discs.
