T9 ® Text InputUsing this mode of text entrydramaticallyreduces the number of keypresses required:Press a keyonce for anyletter you require on that key. The desiredletter may not be displayed. Continue pressing other keys until theend of a word is reached; then check that the word has been typedcorrectlybefore continuing on to the next word bypressing # or c.If the combination of letters typed has produced a word which is notthe one you require, press 0 repeatedlyuntil the correct word isdisplayed. Continue to the next word.If the word you require is not in the internal dictionary (i.e. it is aproper noun or a rarelyused word) you should enter it using theNormal (U) mode.Other Text ModesTo access anyof the other text entrymodes use P to cycle throughuntil the desired mode is displayed in the Information Area.When using Normal (U), Greek (V) or Extended (W) text entrymodes, each time a keyis pressed in quick succession it displays thenext character available on that key(or if the keyis pressed and helddown it scrolls through the available characters). Releasing the key,or pressing another keyenters the currentlydisplayed character andthe cursor moves to the next position.Editing TextPressing e moves you up or down one text line (or field inPhonebook). Pressing f moves you left or right one character (or tothe first character of the previous or next word when using T9 ® textentrymode). When the cursor is moved over a character and anotherkeypressed, this inserts the new character immediatelybefore theselected character.
