EU/EEA-Wide Guarantee: Conditions applicable in any country other than the countryof original purchase.A When the purchaser finds the appliance to be defective, he should promptlycontact theproper sales companyor national distributor in the EU/EEA countrywhere thisguarantee is claimed, as indicated in the “Product Service Guide” or the nearestauthorized dealer together with this guarantee and proof of date of purchase.The purchaser will then be informed whether:(i) the sales companyor national distributor will handle the repair service: or(ii) the sales companyor national distributor will arrange for trans-shipment of theappliance to the EU/EEA countrywhere the appliance was originallymarketed; or(iii) the purchaser mayhimself send the appliance to the sales companyor nationaldistributor in the EU/EEA countrywhere the appliance was originallymarketed.B If the appliance is a product model which is normallysupplied bythe sales companyornational distributor in the countrywhere it is used bythe purchaser, then the appliance,together with this guarantee card and proof of date of purchase, should be returned atthe purchaser’s risk and expense to such sales companyor distributor, which willhandle the repair service. In some countries, the affiliated sales companyor nationaldistributor will designate dealers or certain service centres to execute the repairsinvolved.C If the appliance is a product model which is not normallysupplied in the countrywhereused, or if the appliance’s internal or external product characteristics are different fromthose of the equivalent model in the countrywhere used, the sales companyor nationaldistributor maybe able to have the guarantee repair service executed byobtainingspare parts from the countrywhere the appliance was originallymarketed, or it maybenecessaryto have the guarantee repair service executed the sales companyor nationaldistributor in the countrywhere the appliance was originallymarketed.In either case, the purchaser must furnish this guarantee card and proof of date ofpurchase. Anynecessarytransportation, both of the appliance and of anyspare parts,will be at the purchaser’s risk and expense, and there maybe a consequent delayin therepair service.D Where the consumer sends the appliance for repair to the sales companyor nationaldistributor in the countryof use of the appliance, the service will be provided on thesame local terms and conditions (including the period of guarantee coverage) as prevailfor the same model appliance in the countryof use, and not the countryof initial sale inthe EU/EEA. Where the consumer sends the appliance for repair to the sales companyor national distributor in the EU/EEA countrywhere the appliance was originallymarketed, the repair service will be provided on the local terms and conditionsprevailing in the countryof initial sale in the EU/EEA.E Some product models require adjustment or adaptation for proper performance andsafe use in different EU/EEA countries, in accordance with local voltage requirementsand safetyor other technical standards imposed or recommended byapplicableregulations. For certain product models, the cost of such adjustment or adaptation maybe substantial and it maybe difficult to satisfylocal voltage requirements and safetyorother technical standards. It is stronglyrecommended that the purchaser investigatesthese local technical and safetyfactors before using the appliance in another EU/EEAcountry.F This guarantee shall not cover the cost of anyadjustments or adaptations to meet localvoltage requirements and safetyor other technical standards. The sales companyornational distributor maybe in a position to make the necessaryadjustments oradaptations to certain product models at the cost of the purchaser. However, fortechnical reasons it is not possible to adjust or adapt all product models to complywithlocal voltage requirements and safetyor other technical standards. Moreover, whereadaptations or adjustments are carried out the performance of the appliance maybeaffected.G If in the opinion of the sales companyor national distributor in the countrywhere theappliance is used the purchaser has the necessaryadjustments or adaptations to localvoltage requirements and technical or safetystandards properlymade, anysubsequentguarantee repair service will be provided as above indicated, provided the purchaserdiscloses the nature of the adjustment or adaptation if relevant to the repair. (It isrecommended that the purchaser should not send adapted or adjusted equipment forrepair to the sales companyor national distributor in the countrywhere the appliancewas originallymarketed if the repair relates in anywayto the adaptation or adjustment).H This guarantee shall onlybe valid in territories subject to the laws of the EuropeanUnion and the EEA.Please keep this guarantee with your receipt.61EU Warranty
