Short Text MessagesYou can receive, display, edit and/or send short text messages, of up to 160characters to mobile phones on the same network or any network that has a roamingagreement.Setting the Phone for Text MessagesBefore you can send a message you must enter the Message Centre number intoParameters (your Service Provider will supply the Message Centre number).The Message Centre number may have been preprogrammed, on your SIM card.Setting the Message Centre Number1 From Idle mode press B 363 to enter the Message Centre menuand press B2 Enter message centre number in international dial format – see “InternationalDialling” page 6Sending a Text Message1 From Idle mode press B 33 to enter the Createmenu and press B2 Enter the message (up to 160 characters) – see “TextEntry” page 36 and press BYou will be prompted if you wish to send the message, if youdo not wish to send the message press C, the message will be stored.3 Press B and enter the destination phone number (or recall a number from thePhonebook) - see “Retrieve a Number” page 11 and press B4 Press B5 You may be asked if you wish to have delivery confirmation, if you wantconfirmation press B.
