- 14 -- Accidental re-start preventive function- Even if the battery pack is insertedon the tool with the power switch inthe “ON” position, the tool does notstart. At this time, the lamp flickersslowly and this shows that theaccidental re-start preventivefunction is at work.- To start the tool, first slide the powerswitch toward the “OFF” positionand then slide it toward the “ON”position.[Battery Pack]For Appropriate Use ofBattery packLi-ion Battery pack (EY9L40/EY9L41)• For optimum battery life, store theLi-ion battery pack following usewithout charging it.• When charging the battery pack,confirm that the terminals on thebattery charger are free of foreignsubstances such as dust and water etc.Clean the terminals before chargingthe battery pack if any foreignsubstances are found on the terminals.The life of the battery pack terminalsmay be affected by foreignsubstances such as dust and wateretc. during operation.• When battery pack is not in use,keep it away from other metalobjects like: paper clips, coins, keys,nails, screws, or other small metalobjects that can make a connectionfrom one terminal to another.Shorting the battery terminalstogether may cause sparks, burns ora fire.• When operating the battery pack,make sure the work place is wellventilated.• When the battery pack is removedfrom the main body of the tool, re-place the battery pack cover imme-diately in order to prevent dust or dirtfrom contaminating the battery ter-minals and causing a short circuit.Battery Pack LifeThe rechargeable batteries have alimited life.
