EYQ2141. Plug the charger into an AC outlet.2. Insert the battery pack firmly intothe charger.BatterypackBatterycharger• When charging, cooling fan inthe charger functions to cooldown the battery pack, and thesound of fan can be heard. ThisIs normal. If this sound cannotbe heard, it is a malfunction.Stop charging immediately andconsult an authorized dealer.3. During charging, the charginglamp will light up.When the charge is completed, aninternal electronic switch willautomatically be triggered toprevent overcharging.• Charging will not occur if thebattery pack is warm (for exam¬ple, immediately after heavy-duty operation). The orangestandby lamp will light up untilthe battery becomes cool.Charging will then begin auto¬matically.4. When charging is completed, thecharging lamp will start flashingquickly.5. When the battery pack has notbeen used for a long time, thecharging lamp starts flashingslowly to indicate protectivecharging. Protective chargingtakes longer to fully charge thebattery pack, than the standardcharging time. (Max. charging timeis approx. 90 minutes.)• If a fully charged battery pack isinserted into the charger again,the charging lamp may tight up.After several minutes, the charg¬ing lamp may flash quickly toindicate the charging is complet¬ed.6. If the charging lamp does not lightimmediately after the charger Isplugged in, or if after the standardcharging time the lamp does notgo off, consult an authorizeddealer.Note:*When a cold battery (of about5gC or less) is to be chargedin a warm room, leave thebattery in the room for at leastone hour and charge it whenit has warmed up to roomtemperature. (Failing to do somay result in less than a fullcharge.)• Cool down the charger whencharging more than twobattery packs consecutively.• Do not insert your fingers intocontact hole, when holdingcharger or any otheroccasions.CAUTION:*Do not use powersource from an enginegenerator.• Do not cover vent holeson the charger and thebattery pack.Lamp indications of the EY0214Charger i« plugged into a wall outlet.Ready to charge.Now chargingCharging Is completedProtective chargingBattery pack Is warm.
