- 14 -• If it is started with too little batterypower remaining, the tool may stopoperating without the battery lowwarning lamp flashing first. Thisindicates that there is too little batterypower remaining to use the tool, andthe battery pack should be chargedbefore further use.• If the tool is subject to a sudden loadduring use that causes the motor tolock up, the overdischarge preventionsensor may be triggered, and thebattery low warning lamp may flash.The lamp will stop flashing once youaddress the cause of the motor’slocking up and cycle the trigger.[Battery Pack]For Appropriate Use ofBattery packLi-ion Battery pack• For optimum battery life, store the Li-ion battery pack following use withoutcharging it.• When charging the battery pack,confirm that the terminals on thebattery charger are free of foreignsubstances such as dust and wateretc. Clean the terminals beforecharging the battery pack if anyforeign substances are found on theterminals.The life of the battery packterminals may be affected by foreignsubstances such as dust and wateretc. during operation.• When battery pack is not in use,keep it away from other metal objectslike: paper clips, coins, keys, nails,screws, or other small metal objectsthat can make a connection from oneterminal to another.Shorting the battery terminalstogether may cause sparks, burns ora fire.• When operating the battery pack,make sure the work place is wellventilated.• When the battery pack is removedfrom the main body of the tool,replace the battery pack coverimmediately in order to prevent dustor dirt from contaminating the batteryterminals and causing a short circuit.Battery Pack LifeThe rechargeable batteries havea limited life. If the operation timebecomes extremely short afterrecharging, replace the battery packwith a new one.Battery RecyclingATTENTION:For environmental protection andrecycling of materials, be sure that itis disposed of at an officially assignedlocation, if there is one in your country.[Battery Charger]ChargingCautions• If the temperature of the battery packfalls approximately below −10°C(14°F), charging will automaticallystop to prevent degradation of thebattery.• The ambient temperature rangeis between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C(104°F).If the battery pack is used when thebattery temperature is below 0°C(32°F), the tool may fail to functionproperly.• When charging a cool battery pack(below 0°C (32°F)) in a warm place,leave the battery pack at the placeand wait for more than one hour towarm up the battery to the level of theambient temperature.
