22Handling and Maintenanceto avoid scratches and peeling of this coating, anapproved soft cloth has been included to wipethe LCD surface of this computer. Before usingthis computer, be sure to read the instructionsprovided below.• Be sure to wipe the LCD display to removefingerprints, etc., with the soft cloth.• Do not wipe areas other than the LCDdisplay with the soft cloth.How to use the soft cloth• Use the soft cloth when it is dry. Do not applywater or solvents to the soft cloth.• First, lightly wipe foreign particles and dustadhering to the LCD display on one side ofthe soft cloth. Do not use force, since the LCDsurface may be damaged with the foreignparticles or dust.Next, wipe off fingerprint, etc., with the other sideof the soft cloth.After wiping off foreign particles and dust, washthe soft cloth (refer to the following) to remove theforeign particles and dust from the soft cloth. Clean the screen while the computer is poweredoff.Cleaning the screen while the power is on maycause the computer to malfunction. Also, dirt onthe screen is easier to see when the computer ispowered off, and so is easier to clean. Wash the soft cloth when it becomes dirty.When the soft cloth becomes dirty, wash it withmild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabricconditioner (softener), or try to sterilize the clothby boiling.If the soft cloth is dirty, it may be ineffective incleaning the screen, and in fact may cause dirt toadhere to the screen. Check the following to prevent the surface of thescreen from being scratched.• Are you using your finger or a digitizer pen tooperate the screen?• Is the surface clean?• Is the soft cloth clean?• Are you using the digitizer pen with the tipextended?• Is the tip of the digitizer pen clean?• Is you finger clean?To Clean Areas Other Than theLCD PanelWipe with a soft dry cloth such as gauze. Whenusing detergent, dip a soft cloth in water-diluteddetergent and wring it thoroughly.CAUTION Do not use benzene, thinner, or rubbing alcoholsince it may adversely affect the surface causingdiscouloration, etc. Do not use commercially-available household cleaners and cosmetics,as they may contain components harmful to thesurface. Do not apply water or detergent directly to thecomputer, since liquid may enter inside of thecomputer and cause malfunction or damage.Encrypting TabletBefore enabling “Encrypt tablet” by touching -[ Security] – [Encrypt tablet], backup your data.If a trouble occurs while encrypting, data on thiscomputer will be erased.Dispose of Computer Remove the microSD memory card and otherperipherals. Perform “Factory data reset” to erase the storeddata. ( page 26) After the remaining battery charge become 0 %,remove the battery by performing the followingsteps, and dispose or recycle the battery inaccordance with national legislation.Useful Information
