Defective batteries may leak into theunit.• On replacing the batteries, ensure that the correct battery type selection isprogrammed (page 39).For maximum distance and noise-free operation, the recommended base unit locationis:• Away from electrical appliances such as TV, radio, personal computer or anothertelephone.• In a convenient high and central location.Operating RangeThe range of operation depends on the construction of your home, weather and usageconditions:• Normally you will get longer range outdoors than indoors.• Obstacles such as walls, metal shelves or cement-iron walls may shorten the operatingrange.NoiseOccasional noise or interference may occur due to other random radio waves.
