12Making / Answering CallsMaking calls1 Predial the phone number > [ ]• If you make a mistake whilepredialling a phone number, press [C]to clear it. Press and hold [C] to clearall inputs.2 When finished talking, press [ ] orplace the handset on the base unit orcharger.Adjusting the receiver volumePress [ ] or [ ] while on a call. 5 levelsare available.Speakerphone(KX-TG1090/KX-TG1092/KX-TG1093/KX-TG1094 only)The handset features a digitalspeakerphone, which allows you to havehands-free conversations.1 During a conversation, press [ ] toturn on the speakerphone.2 When finished talking, press [ ] orplace the handset on the base unit orcharger.Note:• For best performance, use thespeakerphone in a quiet environment.• To switch back to the receiver, press[ ].Adjusting the speaker volumePress [ ] or [ ] during the call. 5 levelsare available.Answering calls1 Press [ ] to answer the call.2 When finished talking, press [ ] orplace the handset on the base unit orcharger.Note:• With Auto Talk function switched on,you can talk directly when the handsetis picked up from the base unit orcharger during incoming call (page10).Handset locator1 Press [ ] on the base unit.• While paging the handset, the timeand handset number displays willtemporarily disappear from thehandset screen.2 To stop paging, press [ ] on thebase unit again or press [ ] on eachhandset.• The handset beeps for 1 minute.Pause button (for PBX/long distanceservice users)A pause is sometimes required whenmaking calls using a PBX or longdistance service. Press and hold [0] forabout 2 seconds to create one pause.Temporary tone dialling (for rotaryor pulse service users)You can temporarily switch the diallingmode to tone when you need to accesstouch tone services (e.g., telephonebanking services).1 Make a call.2 Press [ ] when prompted to enteryour code or PIN, then press theappropriate dial keys.• The dialling mode will return to pulsewhen you hang up.Helpline Tel.
