Touse Caller ID features (such asdisplaying caller phone numbers), youmust subscribe to Caller ID service.Consult your serviceprovider/telephone company fordetails.For all local and national incoming calls,your display will show the area code(e.g. 09 for Auckland) or the cellularprefix (e.g. 0274 for Telecom Cellular)followed by the caller’s telephonenumber. An Auckland caller’s numberwill be displayed as 09XXXXXXX. Theseven X’s represent the seven digits ofthe caller’s telephone number. A callerfrom a 6-digit Telecom Cellular numberwill be displayed as 0274XXXXXX. Forincoming international calls, your displaymay only show “0000”. For businessusers on a Centrex line, your display willshow Centrex extension numbers in theshorter extension number format usedwithin your company.L The Caller ID information will not bepresented on incoming fax calls ifTelecom FaxAbility is used.Using toll services from Telecom oranother companyYour telephone company may chargeyou for a local call if the number dialledhas the area code prefix included. If thisis unacceptable, dial only the 7-digitlocal number. Do not dial the {0} prefixor the area code.Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is received, thecaller’s phone number will be displayed.L Phone numbers of the last 50 callerswill be logged in the caller list.L While listening to a message recordedby the answering system using thehandset, you can call back the callerwithout having to dial the phonenumber (KX-TG1855; page 27).L When caller information is receivedand it matches a phone numberstored in the unit’s phonebook, thestored name will be displayed andlogged in the caller list.L If the unit is connected to a PBXsystem, you may not receive the callerinformation.L When the caller dialled from an areawhich does not provide Caller IDservice, “Out of Area” will bedisplayed.L When the caller requested not to sendcaller information, either noinformation or “Private Caller”will be displayed.Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treatsthe call as a missed call. The number ofmissed calls is shown on the display.This lets you know if you should view thecaller list to see who called while youwere out.
