Preparation16Setting the date and timeSet the date and time so that the unit will:– display the date and time the calls werereceived in the caller list (page 26).– announce the day and time eachmessage was recorded by theanswering system (page 41) when youplay back messages.Important:L When “E Press MENU.” flashes on thedisplay, press {MENU}, then skip to step3.1 Press {MENU}.2 Scroll to “Date and time” by pressing{V} or {^}, then press {>} or {Select}.3 Enter the current year, month, and dayby selecting 2 digits for each.Example: June 15, 2005Press {0}{5} {0}{6} {1}{5}.4 Enter the current hour and minute (24-hour clock format) by selecting 2 digitsfor each.Example: 21:30Press {2}{1} {3}{0}.5 Press {Save}.L When the date and time are set, Edisappears from the base unitdisplay.L If the handset beeps 3 times, the dateand time were not set correctly. Enterthe correct digits.6 Press {OFF}.Note:L If you make a mistake when entering thedate and time, press {<}, {>}, {V}, or{^} to move the cursor, then make thecorrection.L The date and time may be incorrect aftera power failure. When “E PressMENU.” flashes on the handset displayor “E” flashes on the base unit display,adjust the date and time.To confirm the date and timeRepeat steps 1 and 2.
