59Useful InformationSplash-Resistant (HANDSET ONLY)The handset is designed to be splash resistant.You can use the handset with wet hands.CAUTION:• Do not immerse in water or leave under running water.• Keep the handset away from salt water.• Avoid exposure to prolonged high humidity.• Since water in headset jack may cause damage, close the headset jackcover when the optional headset is not in use. When the optionalheadset is connected, do not use the handset with wet hands.• If the handset is wet, wipe with a soft dry cloth.• The base unit is not designed to be splash resistant. Do not place thewet handset on the base unit.Shock-Resistant (HANDSET ONLY)Although the handset is designed to be shock resistant, do not throw orstep on the handset.WARNING:TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THEBASE UNIT TO RAIN OR ANY TYPE OF MOISTURE. ONLY THEHANDSET IS SHOCK AND SPLASH RESISTANT.• If there is any trouble, disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect aknown working phone. If the known working phone operates properly, have yourunit repaired by one of the specified authorized Panasonic Factory Servicentres.If the known working phone does not operate properly, consult your telephonecompany.MedicalConsult the manufacturer of any personal medical devices, such aspacemakers, to determine if they are adequately shielded from externalRF (radio frequency) energy.
