To useCaller ID features, you must subscribe toyour telephone company’s Caller IDservice.Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is being received, thecalling party’s telephone number isdisplayed.Telephone numbers for the last 50 differentcallers are logged in the caller list by themost recent call to the oldest.L If the unit cannot receive callerinformation, the following is displayed:– “Out of area”: The caller dialledfrom an area which does not provideCaller ID service.– “Private caller”: The callerrequested not to send callerinformation.L If the unit is connected to a PBX system,caller information may not be receivedproperly. Consult your PBX supplier.L If the name display service is available inyour area, the display shows callernames. For further information, pleasecontact your telephone company.Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treats thecall as a missed call. The number ofmissed calls is shown on the handsetdisplay. This lets you know if you shouldview the caller list to see who called whileyou were out.Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received and itmatches a phone number stored in thephonebook, the stored name is displayedand logged in the caller list.Call waiting and Caller IDcompatibleIf you subscribe to Caller ID service, yourhandset displays the 2nd caller’sinformation while talking. After you hear acall waiting tone, the caller’s phonenumber will be displayed.You can answer the 2nd call, keeping the1st call on hold.Follow your service provider/telephonecompany instructions using {Recall}.L If the phone number is stored in thephonebook with its name, the caller’sname will also be displayed.L Please contact your service provider/telephone company for details andavailability in your area.For Caller ID Type II usersWhen you receive a 2nd call during aconversation, you will hear a signal tonefollowing the call waiting tone and theconversation will be interrupted ormuted for a short period of time.
