Introduction11For best performanceBase unit location/avoiding noiseThe base unit and other compatiblePanasonic units use radio waves tocommunicate with each other.For maximum distance and noise-freeoperation, we recommend the following:L Placing the product away from electricalappliances.L Placing the base unit in a HIGH andCENTRAL location with no obstructionssuch as walls.L Raising the antennas vertically.L If you use the handset near a microwaveoven which is being used, noise may beheard. Move away from the microwaveoven and closer to the base unit.L If you use the handset near anothercordless phone’s base unit, noise maybe heard. Move away from the othercordless phone’s base unit and closer toyour base unit.EnvironmentL Keep the product away from electricalnoise generating devices, such asfluorescent lamps and motors.L The product should be kept free fromexcessive smoke, dust, hightemperature, and vibration.L The product should not be exposed todirect sunlight.L Do not place heavy objects on top of theproduct.L When you leave the product unused fora long period of time, unplug the productfrom the power outlet.L The product should be kept away fromheat sources such as heaters, kitchenstoves, etc. It should not be placed inrooms where the temperature is lessthan 5 °C (41 °F) or greater than 40 °C(104 °F). Damp basements should alsobe avoided.L The maximum calling distance may beshortened when the product is used inthe following places: Near obstaclessuch as hills, tunnels, underground, nearmetal objects such as wire fences, etc.L Operating near 5.8 GHz electricalappliances may cause interference.Move away from the electricalappliances.Routine careL Wipe the outer surface of the productwith a soft moist cloth.
