However, this operation may not workproperly depending on area or telephone line’scondition. The base unit speakerphone and thecordless handset will not function during a powerfailure.Note for battery installationL Use the supplied rechargeable batteries. Forreplacement, we recommend using thePanasonic rechargeable batteries noted onpage 3, 4.L Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with a dry cloth.L Avoid touching the battery ends (S, T) or theunit contacts.Note for battery chargeL It is normal for the handset to feel warm duringcharging.L Clean the charge contacts of the handset andcharger with a soft and dry cloth once a month.Clean more often if the unit is exposed togrease, dust, or high humidity.Battery levelPanasonic Ni-MH battery performance(supplied batteries)Note:L It is normal for batteries not to reach full capacityat the initial charge. Maximum batteryperformance is reached after a few completecycles of charge/discharge (use).L Actual battery performance depends on acombination of how often the handset is in useand how often it is not in use (standby).L Even after the handset is fully charged, thehandset can be left on the charger without any illeffect on the batteries.L The battery level may not be displayed correctlyafter you replace the batteries.
