If you select amelody, you will not be able todistinguish lines by their ringers.L If you select one of the melody ringerpatterns, the ringer will continue tosound for several seconds if:– the caller hangs up before you answerthe call.– another person answers the call usinganother phone connected on thesame line.Useful features during acallHOLD buttonThis feature allows you to put an outsidecall on hold.1 Press {HOLD} during an outside call.L To transfer the call to the base unit oranother handset, continue from step2, “Transferring calls”, page 50.2 Press {HOLD} again.L To release the hold, press {LINE1} or{LINE2} that is flashing on thehandset.Press {HOLD} during an outside call.L To release the hold, press {LINE1} or{LINE2} that is flashing on the base unit.Note for handset and base unit:L If another phone is connected to thesame line (page 10), you can also takethe call by lifting its handset.L If a call is kept on hold for more than 6minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound.After 4 additional minutes on hold, thecall is disconnected.HandsetBase unit
