Preparation5Important informationGeneralL Use only the AC adaptor supplied withthis product, noted on page 4.L Do not connect the AC adaptor to anyAC outlet other than a standard220–240 V AC outlet.L This product is unable to make callswhen:– the portable handset battery(ies)need recharging or have failed.– there is a power failure.– the key lock feature is turned on.L Do not open the base unit, charger, orhandset other than to replace thebattery(ies).L Consult the manufacturer of anypersonal medical devices, such aspacemakers or hearing aids, todetermine if they are adequatelyshielded from external RF (radiofrequency) energy. (The productoperates in the frequency range of1.88 GHz to 1.90 GHz, and the poweroutput is 250 mW (max.).)
