Touse Caller ID features, you mustsubscribe to Caller ID service. Contactyour service provider/telephonecompany for details.Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is being received,the phone number is displayed.L For landline calls, the caller’s name isalso displayed.Caller information for the last 50 callersis logged in the caller list from the mostrecent call to the oldest.L If the unit cannot receive callerinformation from landline calls, thefollowing is displayed:– “Out of area”: The caller dialedfrom an area which does notprovide Caller ID service.– “Private caller”: The callerrequested not to send callerinformation.– “Long distance”: The callermade a long distance call.L If the unit is connected to a PBXsystem, caller information may not bereceived properly. Contact your PBXsupplier.Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treatsthe call as a missed call. The displayshows “Missed call”. This lets youknow if you should view the caller list tosee who called while you were away.Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received andit matches a phone number stored in thephonebook, the stored name in thephonebook is displayed and logged inthe caller list.Talking Caller IDThis feature lets you know who is callingwithout looking at the display.To use this feature, you must:– subscribe to Caller ID service of yourservice provider/telephone company.– turn this feature on (page 28).When caller information is received, thehandsets announce the caller’s name orphone number received from yourservice provider/telephone companyfollowing every ring. The unit announcesin English only.L Name pronunciation may vary. Thisfeature may not pronounce all namescorrectly.L Caller ID service has a limit of howmany characters can be displayed. Ifthe caller’s name is too long, thehandset may not be able to display orannounce the entire name.L The announcement is heard at thesame level as the ringer volume (page29, 30).L When you receive a call while on thephone, the 2nd caller’s information isnot announced even if you subscribeto both Caller ID and Call Waiting withCaller ID services.Phonebook name announcementWhen caller information is received andit matches a phone number stored in thephonebook, the stored name in thephonebook is announced.
