Before Use3VQT0P79∫ Care for the camera• Do not shake or cause impact to thecamera. The camera may not beoperated normally or recording of picturesmay be disabled, or the lens may bedamaged.• Sand or dust may cause a malfunctionof the camera. When you use thecamera on a beach etc., take care sothat sand or dust does not get into thecamera.• When you use the camera on a rainy dayor on a beach, take care so that waterdoes not get into the camera.• If seawater splashes onto the camera,wet a soft cloth with tap water, wring itwell, and use it to wipe the camerabody carefully. Then, wipe it again witha dry cloth.∫ About the LCD monitor• Do not press the LCD monitor strongly.It may cause uneven colours on theLCD monitor or a malfunction of theLCD monitor.• In a place with drastic temperaturechanges, condensation may form on theLCD monitor. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.• If the camera is extremely cold when youturn the camera on, the image on the LCDmonitor is slightly darker than usual atfirst. However, as the internal temperatureincreases, it goes back to the normalbrightness.∫ About the Lens• Do not direct the lens to the sun or stronglight sources. It may cause not only amalfunction of the camera but irreversibledamage to your eye.• Do not press the lens strongly.• Leaving the camera with the lens facingthe sun may cause a malfunction. Becareful when you put the camera outsideor near a window.∫ About Condensation (When the lensis fogged up)Condensation takes place when theambient temperature or humidity ischanged as follows:Be careful of condensation since it causesstains on the lens, fungus or malfunction.• When the camera is brought inside fromthe cold to a warm room.• When the camera is moved from outsideto an air-conditioned car.• When cool wind from an air conditioner orother is directly blown onto the camera.• In humid placesPut the camera into plastic bag until thetemperature of the camera is close to theambient temperature to avoidcondensation. In case of condensation,turn the camera off and then leave it forabout 2 hours.When the camera becomes close to theambient temperature, the fog disappearsnaturally.Extremely high precision technology isemployed to produce the LCD monitorscreen. The result is more than 99.99%effective pixels with a mere 0.01% of thepixels inactive or always lit. However,this will not be recorded on the picturesin the built-in memory or the card.
