Recording Modes118Recording motion pictures with manually setaperture value/shutter speed (Creative Video Mode)Recording Mode:It is possible to manually change the aperture and shutter speed and record motionpictures.1 Set the mode dial to [ ].2 Select the menu.3 Press 3/4 to select [P], [A], [S] or [M], and then press [MENU/SET].• The operation for changing the aperture value or shutter speed is the same as theoperation for setting the mode dial to , , or .4 Start recording.• Press the motion picture button or the shutter button to start recording a motion picture.(Still pictures cannot be taken.)5 Stop recording.• Press the motion picture button or the shutter button to stop recording a motion picture.• Aperture value– Set the aperture value to a higher number when you want a sharp focus background. Set theaperture value to a lower number when you want a soft focus background.• Shutter speed– When you want to take a sharp picture of a fast moving subject, set with a faster shutterspeed. When you want to create a trail effect, set to a slower shutter speed.– Manually setting a higher shutter speed may increase the noise on-screen due to the highersensitivity.– When subjects are recorded in an extremely bright place or under fluorescent/LED lighting,the color tone or brightness of the image may change, or horizontal stripes may appear onthe screen.
