Preparation13VQT0R81About the Battery (Charging/number of recordable pictures)∫ Battery indicationThe remaining battery power appears onthe screen.• The battery indication turns red andblinks.• Recharge the battery or replace it withfully charged battery.[It does not appear when you use thecamera along with the AC adaptor(DMW-CAC1; optional).]∫ The battery lifeThe number of recordable pictures byCIPA standard (In program AE mode)• CIPA is an abbreviation of[Camera & Imaging Products Association].Recording conditions by CIPA standard• Temperature: 23 °C (73.4 °F)/Humidity: 50 % when LCD monitor is on.• Using the supplied SD Memory Card(32 MB).• Using the supplied battery.• Recording starts 30 seconds after thecamera is turned on.• Recording once every 30 seconds, withfull flash every other recording.• Turn the camera off every 10 recordings.The number of recordable pictureswhen using the Viewfinder(Recording conditions comply with CIPAstandard.)Playback time when using the LCDmonitorThe number of recordable pictures andplayback time will vary depending on theoperating conditions and storing conditionof the battery.∫ ChargingCharging time and the number ofrecordable pictures with the optionalbattery pack (CGR-S006A) are the sameas above.• When charging starts, the [CHARGE]indicator lights.∫ Charging error• If a charging error occurs, the [CHARGE]indicator blinks in about 1 second cycles.In this case, disconnect the charger fromthe electrical outlet, remove the batteryand make sure that both room and batterytemperature are not too low or high andthen charge it again. If the [CHARGE]indicator still blinks even if you charge thebattery for a while, consult the dealer oryour nearest servicenter.• When the operating time of the camerabecomes extremely short even if thebattery is properly charged, the life of thebattery may have expired. Buy a newbattery.∫ Charging conditions• Charge the battery under temperature of10 oC to 35 oC (50 oF to 95 oF).
