During playback, pushthe [sVOLr] lever to display the volumeindication and adjust it. (-31-)2: Different sounds are reproduced at thesame time.• Have you set [SETUP] >> [AUDIO OUT] >>[STEREO] and reproduced a picture containingthe main sound and sub sound? Set to [L] tohear main sound, and set to [R] to hear the subsound. (-39-)3: Sounds cannot be played back.• Have you set [SETUP] >> [12bit AUDIO] >>[ST2]? Set [12bit AUDIO] >> [ST1]. (-39-)Playback (Pictures)1: Mosaic-pattern noise appears on imagesduring cue or review playback.• This phenomenon is characteristic of digitalvideo systems. It is not a malfunction.2: Horizontal stripes appear on images duringcue and review playback.• Horizontal stripes may appear depending onthe scene, but this is not a malfunction.3: Although the movie camera is correctlyconnected to a TV, playback images cannotbe seen.The images are vertical.• Have you selected video input on the TV?Please read the operating instructions of yourTV and select the channel that matches theinput terminals used for the connection.• Is the [TV ASPECT] setting correct? Changethe setting to match the aspect ratio of the TV.[SETUP] >> [TV ASPECT] >> [16:9] or [4:3].4: Playback picture is not clear.• Are the heads of the movie camera dirty? If theheads are dirty, playback image cannot beclear. Clean the heads by using the headcleaner for digital video (optional). (-45-)• If the terminal for the AV cable is soiled, noisesmay appear on the screen. Wipe the soil off theterminal with a soft cloth, and then connect thecable to the A/V terminal.• Is a picture containing a copyright protectionsignal (copy guard) being recorded? When aprotected picture is played back by the moviecamera, mosaic-like patterns appear on thepicture.Others1: The indication disappears, the screen isfrozen, or no operation can be performed.• Turn off the power to the movie camera. If thepower cannot be turned off, press the [RESET]button, or detach the battery or the AC adaptorand then reattach it. After that, turn on thepower again. If normal operation is still notrestored, detach the power connected, andconsult the dealer who you purchased themovie camera from.2: “PUSH THE RESET SWITCH” is displayed.• An irregularity in the movie camera has beenautomatically detected. Remove the cassettefor data protection and then press the [RESET]button with the boss A. The movie camera willbe activated.• If you do not press the [RESET] button, thepower to the movie camera is turned offautomatically about 1 minute later.• Even after you press the [RESET] button, theindication may still appear repeatedly. If so, themovie camera needs repair. Detach the powerconnected, and consult the dealer who youpurchased the movie camera from. Do notattempt to repair the appliance by yourself.3: The warning/alarm indication [°] appearswhen the camera is operated in the WEBcamera mode.• Did you press the menu button or the recordingstart/stop button? You cannot use the menu orrecord onto the tape in the WEB camera mode.• Did you attempt to play a tape without insertingit? Insert a tape.• Did you attempt to play a tape with copyrightprotection (copy guard)? Pictures of the tapewith copyright protection (copy guard) cannotbe displayed on the PC.
