7Getting StartedEmergency Alert System (EAS)Forced TuningIf a CableCARD™ is installed, the cable MSO(multiple system owner/operator) may provide anEmergency Alert System message. These messagesare intended to alert the general public of importantlocal or national emergency situations. In the eventof receipt of one of these messages, the ProjectionDisplay shall immediately tune to the channel asdirected by the EAS message. If the channel hasbeen blocked using the parental control, the parentalblocking has priority over the forced tune.Requires two AA batteries (supplied).2 . Install batteries in the battery compartment.• Battery polarity (+) and (-) must match the markingsinside the compartment.Remote Control Battery Installation1 . While pressing in on the catch, open cover indirection of arrow.3 . Press cover until it snaps shut.Incorrect battery installation can cause the batteries toleak, leading to personal injury and/or damage to theRemote Control.Observe the following precautions:1. Always replace batteries with a pair of new ones.2. Do not combine a new battery with an old one.3. Do not mix battery types (example: “Zinc Carbon”with “Alkaline”).4. Do not attempt to charge, short-circuit, disassemble,heat or burn used batteries.5. Battery replacement is necessary when the RemoteControl acts sporadically or stops operating theProjection Display set.Helpful Hints:(1) Frequent Remote Control users, chooselong-lasting Alkaline batteries as replacements.(2) Whenever batteries are removed, you may needto reset Remote Control infrared codes.We suggest making a note of the codes on page70 prior to setting up the remote.Reset All Memory FunctionsUse when moving unit to a new location, or when FirstTime Setup needs to be done over.Press the VOL- button on the unitand OK button on the RemoteControl at the same time for morethan 3 seconds. Unit shuts itself offwhen reset is done.• POWER indicator flashes red. Afterflashing stops, unplug the unit thenplug it back in and turn power ON.CAUTIONTwo AA sizeNote:• When using “Control with HDMI (HDAVI Control)”, with thedevice connected, set “Ctrl with HDMI” first to “Off” and then“On” using the Setup Menu.
