98ª White Balance AdjustmentDepending on the type of light source, the colorsrecorded by the Palmcorder may be affected. Insome cases, images may be recorded with a bluishor reddish hue. To minimize the effect of light on thesubject’s color, White Balance Adjustment becomesnecessary.White Balance AdjustmentWhite Balance Adjustment recognizes the color oflight and makes adjustment so that the white colorwill become pure white.Auto White Balance AdjustmentThis Palmcorder stores settings that are optimal forseveral kinds of general light sources. ThePalmcorder determines the hue of light that itreceives through the lens and White BalanceSensor, thereby judging the recording condition, andselects the closest hue setting. This function iscalled Auto White Balance Adjustment. However, since white balance settings for onlycertain kinds of light sources are stored, the AutoWhite Balance function does not operate properlywhen recording occurs under light that is out of therange of the setting values.ª Time CodeTime Code signals are data that indicate timemeasured in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames(30 frames per second.) If this data is included in arecording, an address is assigned to each image onthe tape.≥The Time Code is automatically recorded as a partof the sub-code at each recording.≥When a new (previously unrecorded) Cassette isinserted, the Time Code automatically starts fromzero. If a recorded Cassette is inserted, the TimeCode picks up from the point where the last scenewas recorded. (In this case, when the Cassette isinserted, the zero display [0h00m00s00f] mayappear, but the Time Code starts from theprevious value.)≥The Time Code cannot be reset to zero.≥Unless the Time Code is continuously recordedfrom the beginning of a tape, accurate editing maynot be possible. To ensure that the Time Code willbe recorded with no breaks, we recommend theuse of the Camera Search Function (l 28) or theBlank Search Function (l 46) before recording anew scene.ª Memory Stop FunctionThe Memory Stop Function is useful for thefollowing operations.Rewinding or fast-forwarding a tape to a desiredposition1 Set [DISPLAY SETUP] >> [C.DISPLAY]>> [MEMORY].2 Reset the Tape Counter to zero at thetape position from which you want toplay it back later. (l 15, 24)3 Start playback or recording.4 When playback or recording is over:rotate the [OFF/ON/MODE] Switch andset the Palmcorder in the VCR Mode.≥The [VCR] Lamp lights up.5 Rewind the tape.≥The tape automatically stops approximately atthe position where the counter was set to zero.Stopping editing automatically during audiodubbing1 Set [DISPLAY SETUP] >> [C.DISPLAY]>> [MEMORY].2 Reset the Tape Counter to zero at theposition where you want to stopediting.3 Play back the still pictures where youwant to start audio dubbing.4 Start audio dubbing. (l 51)≥Audio dubbing automatically stops at theposition where the counter was set to zero.
