3-3-5 Series Connection[Connectable up to 3 sets (however, 192 beam channels max.)]This is the configuration when multiple sets of emitters and receivers facing each other areconnected in series. It is used when the dangerous area can be entered from two or moredirections. The control output (OSSD 1, OSSD 2) turns OFF if light of any set is blocked. For series connection, connect emitter and emitter, receiver and receiver, respectively, using the exclusive cable for series connection (SF4A-CSL□).Wrong connection could produce a non-sensing area, which can result in seriousinjury or death. When multiple sets of sensors are connected in series, the response time ischanged. In case of series connection, calculate the safety distance again andmaintain the safety distance which is equal to or greater than the safety distance. If the sufficient distance is not maintained, the machine will not stop before itsdangerous parts are reached, which can result in serious injury or death.* S1Switch ‘S1’+9V to Vs: Emission (at 2mA or less sink current) (Note)Open or 0 to +1.5V: Emission haltNote: Vs is the same voltage as the voltage of the power supply to be used.Use a safety relay unit or an equivalent control circuit in safety for FSD.© Panasonic Industrial Devices SUNX Co., Ltd. 2013 MJE-SF4A No.0038-55V- 60 -
