Installing the Outdoor UnitUse concrete or a similar material to create the base, and ensure good drainage.Ordinarily, ensure a base height of 2". or more. If adrain pipe is used, or for use in cold-weather regions, ensure a height of 6". or more at the feet on both sidesof the unit. (In this case, leave clearance below the unitfor the drain pipe, and to prevent freezing of drainagewater in cold-weather regions.)Refer to the Fig. 1-10 for the anchor bolt dimensions.Be sure to anchor the feet with the anchor bolts (M10).In addition, use anchoring washers on the top side. (Uselarge square 32×32 SUS washers with diameters of10.) (Field supply)4-2. Drainage WorkFollow the procedure below to ensure adequate drainingfor the outdoor unit. For the drain port dimensions, refer to the figure atright.Ensure a base height of 6 in. or more at the feet onboth sides of the unit.4-3. Routing the Tubing and WiringThe tubing and wiring can be extended out in 4directions: front, rear, right, and down. The service valves are housed inside the unit. Toaccess them, remove the inspection panel. (To removethe inspection panel, remove the 3 screws, then slidethe panel downward and pull it toward you.)(1) If the routing direction is through the front, rear,or right, use a nipper or similar tool to cut out theknockout holes for the inter-unit control wiring outlet, power wiring outlet, and tubing outlet from theappropriate covers A and B.(2) If the routing direction is down, use a nipper or similartool to cut out the lower flange from cover A.CAUTIONRoute the tubing so that it doesnot contact the compressor, panel, or other parts inside theunit. Increased noise will result ifthe tubing contacts these parts. When routing the tubing, use atube bender to bend the tubes.Fig. 1-10Fig. 1-1137-1/6411-21/325-29/328-5/833/64 33/6425/32 25/3219/32 25/6414-61/6415-15/1613-25/6433/6433/646-11/16 4-21/6425-63/64Drain port (2 locations)Drain portAnchor bolt (M10)Unit: inchInter-unit control wiring outletInspection panelCover A Cover BPower wiring outletTubing outletDownFrontRearRight1
