Outdoor UnitAVOID:● heat sources, exhaust fans, etc.● damp, humid or uneven locations● indoors (no-ventilation location)DO:● choose a place as cool as possible.● choose a place that is well ventilated.● allow enough room around the unit for air intake/exhaust and possible maintenance.Installation SpaceInstall the outdoor unit where there is enough space forventilation. Otherwise the unit may not operate properly. Fig.2-2 shows the minimum space requirement around the outdoorunits when 3 sides are open and only 1 side is shuttered, withopen space above the unit. The mounting base should beconcrete or a similar material that allows for adequate drainage.Make provisions for anchor bolts, platform height, and othersite-specifi c installation requirements.CAUTION● Leave space open above theunit.● Construct louvers or otheropenings in the wall, ifnecessary, to ensure adequateventilation.NOTE● Do not do any wiring or tubing within 30 cm of the frontpanel, because this space is needed as a servicing space forthe compressor.● Ensure a base height of 100 mm or more to ensure thatdrainage water does not accumulate and freeze around thebottom of the unit.● If installing a drain pan, install the drain pan prior toinstalling the outdoor unit.* Make sure there is at least 150 mm between the outdoorunit and the ground. Also, the direction of the tubing and electrical wiring shouldbe from the front of the outdoor unit.Hot airFig. 2-1Fig. 2-3Exhaust fanExample of installation of 2 units(when 3 sides are open and only 1 side is shuttered)Top viewTop viewTop view Side viewSide viewSide view* More than 300 mm** More than 50 mmMore than500 mmInstallation anchor hole(8 – 15 × 21 elongated holes)** More than50 mm*** More than 60 mm* Make a walk-in space behind the unit to erase maintenance and servicing.** When setting the anchor bolt to position “B” or “C” (See Fig. 2-3), makethe space between the unit and the wall more than 250 mm for installationoperation.*** When setting the anchor bolt to position “B” or “C” (See Fig. 2-3), makethe space between the outdoor units more than 180 mm for installationoperation.HeatsourceOut-doorunitFig. 2-2* According to the installation site, you may choose the setting position in thedepth direction of the anchor bolt from “A”, “B” or “C”.A : 894 (Installation hole pitch) * For removing tube forwardB : 730 (Installation hole pitch) * For removing the tube downwardC : 730 (Installation hole pitch)Air intakeInstallation anchor hole(8 – 15 × 21 elongated holes)Installation anchor hole(8 – 15 × 21 elongated holes)(Installation hole pitch)(Installation hole pitch)(Installation hole pitch)AirintakeAirintakeAirintakeAirintakeAir intakeAir intakeAirintakeAirintakeUnit: mm
