11Precautions for InstallationPanasonic assumes no responsibility for injuries or property damage resulting from fail-ures arising out of improper installation or operation inconsistent with this documentation.This microphone is designed to be usedindoors.This product is not operable outdoors.Do not expose this microphone to direct sunlightfor hours and do not install the product near aheater or an air conditioner. Otherwise, it maycause deformation, discoloration and malfunc-tion. Keep this microphone away from water andmoisture.Installing placeContact your dealer for assistance if you areunsure of an appropriate place in your particu-lar environment.• Make sure that the installation area isstrong enough to hold this product, suchas a concrete ceiling or wall.• Install the microphone in the foundationarea of the architecture or where sufficientstrength is assured.• Do not mount this product on a plasterboard or a wooden section because theyare too weak. If this product is unavoidablymounted on such a section, the sectionshall be sufficiently reinforced or use anoptional ceiling mount bracket(WV-Q105A).Do not place this product in the followingplaces:• Locations where it may get wet from rain orwater splash (including under the eaves, etc.)• Locations where a chemical agent is usedsuch as a swimming pool• Locations subject to moisture or oil smokesuch as a kitchen• Locations that have a specific environmentthat is subject to an inflammable atmo-sphere or solvents• Locations where a radiation, an X-ray, astrong radio wave or a strong magneticfield is generated• Locations where corrosive gas is pro-duced, or locations subject to briny airsuch as seashores• Locations where the temperature is notwithin the specified range (page 15)• Locations subject to vibrations (This prod-uct is not designed for on-vehicle use.)• Locations subject to condensation as theresult of severe changes in temperature(Audio may contain noise or the direction-ality may deteriorate.)Be sure to remove this product if it is notin use.Before installation• When this microphone is mounted on aceiling or a wall, use the screws describedin the Installation Guide. The screws to beused are not provided. Prepare the screwsaccording to the material, structure,strength and other factors of the mountingarea and the total weight of objects to bemounted.• Ensure that the mounting surface, anchorand screws are sufficiently strong.About the network connectionWhen connecting to a network using the net-work cable of this product, observe the follow-ing.• When wiring for the network, design andengineer wiring not to be affected by thun-der.
