BACDEFGHICorded Trimmingw Trimmer does not recharge during cordedtrimming.1 Connect cord provided to Trimmer and plugTrimmer into electrical outlet.2 If battery is completely empty, wait a fewminutes before switching Trimmer ON.3 Slide ON/OFF switch ON to begin trimming.4 Turn Trimmer OFF and unplug.Cordless Trimming1 Charge according to directions. UnplugTrimmer from outlet and remove cord.2 Slide ON/OFF switch ON to begin trimming.3 If the charge runs low while trimming, theBattery Indicator will blink orange.4 If the charge runs out while trimming, simplyconnect cord provided to Trimmer and outletto continue trimming.5 Turn Trimmer OFF and unplug.Trimmingw Use this Trimmer for its intended householduse as described in this manual.w Always comb the beard and/or moustache witha fine comb before you start trimming.w If you are trimming for the first time, becareful. Do not move the Trimmer too fast.Make smooth and gentle movements.Trimming with the BeardTrimming Combw Beard Trimming Comb must be on Trimmerto use the Zoom Lock.1 Turn the Zoom Lock to the desired trimminglength setting (see table). The setting isindicated in the center of the adjustment ring(fig. 3).w If you are trimming for the first time, start byusing the comb at the maximum trimminglength setting (#10) to prevent accidentallytrimming hairs too short. As you becomefamiliar with the settings, adjust Zoom Lock todesired trimming length. Zoom Lock will “click”into position at each setting.2 Switch the Trimmer ON.3 To trim in the most effective way, move theTrimmer against the direction of hair growth.Make sure the surface of the comb alwaysstays in contact with the skin (fig. 4).NOTE: Since all hairs do not grow in thesame direction, you may want to try differenttrimming positions (i.e., upwards,downwards, or across). Practice is best foroptimum results.4 If cut hairs have accumulated in thecomb, turn Trimmer off, remove the comband blow and/or shake the hair out of thecomb (fig. 5). Touch thehair lightly with the Trimmer (fig. 8).Be careful when you are trimming without thecomb as when the Trimmer is turned on it willtrim every hair it touches.Cleaningw Clean the Trimmer after each use.w Always switch Trimmer OFF, unplug and removepower supply cord from Trimmer beforecleaning.w Never immerse the Trimmer in water or rinseunder the tap (fig. 9).w Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scourersor aggressive liquids such as alcohol, gasolineor acetone to clean the Trimmer andattachments.w Never clean, replace or remove Trimmer combwith motor ON.w Do not apply pressure to cutters.w Do not touch cutters with hard objects as thismay damage them.w Use a soft, dry cloth to clean Trimmer handle.During Use:w If cut hairs have accumulated in the comb, turnTrimmer off, pull the comb off Trimmer andremove hairs by shaking and/or blowing orusing the cleaning brush provided.After Each Use:1 Make sure the Trimmer is switched OFFand disconnected from the electrical outlet.2 Remove the Trimming Comb and clean withthe brush.3 Remove the cutting unit by pushing againstthe teeth of the cutting unit (fig. 10) and rinseunder warm tap water (fig. 11) or use thebrush supplied.Allow to air dry thoroughly.4 Place the cutting unit back by inserting thenotch of the cutting unit into the guiding slot(fig. 12).5 Push the cutting unit back into place on theTrimmer until you hear a click (fig. 13).NOTE: The appliance does not need anylubrication (oil).Replacing The Cutting UnitIf your cutters become damaged or worn,do not continue using the Trimmer. Replacecutters immediately.1 Open the cutting unit.2 Remove the old cutting unit by pushingagainst the teeth of the cutting unit (fig. 10).3 Insert the notch of the new cutting unit intothe guiding slot (fig. 12).4 Push the cutting unit back onto the Trimmeruntil you hear a ‘click’ (fig. 13).This Trimmer has no other user-serviceableparts.
