36 ENGLISHTROUBLE SHOOTINGThis chapter summarizes the most common problems you could encoun-ter with your machine. Youfind its contact details in the warranty booklet bypacked separately or onwww.philips.com/support.Problem Possible Cause SolutionThe machine does not turn on. The machine is not connected to thepower source.Connect the machine to the power source.The coffee is not hot enough. The cups are cold. Preheat the cups with hot water.Hot water or steam is not dispen-sed.The hole of the hot water/steam wandis clogged.Clean the hole of the hot water/steam wandusing a pin.Make sure that the machine is turned offand has cooled before performing thisoperation.Pannarello is dirty (if supplied). Clean the Pannarello.The espresso is not creamyenough.The coffee blend is unsuitable, the coffeeis not freshly roasted or the grind is toocoarse.Change coffee blend or adjust the ceramiccoffee grinder as explained in section“How to adjust the ceramic coffee grinder”.The machine takes a long time towarm up or the amount of waterdispensed from the hot water/steam wand is too smallThe machine’s water circuit is obstructedby limescale build-up.Descale the machine.The brew group cannot beremoved.The brew group is out of place. Turn the machine on. Close the service door.The brew group automatically returns to thecorrect position.The coffee ground drawer is inserted. Remove the coffee ground drawer first, thenthe brew group.The machine grinds the coffeebeans but no coffee comes out.The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (section “Brew GroupCleaning”).The water circuit is not primed.
