If the table does not providethe solution to your problem or if you have a question, see the chapter'Assistance'.SolutionYou need to flush the coffee machine. See 'Preparing the machine for use'.You are using the Senseo coffee machine at an altitude higher than 2200 m/6800 ft. above sea level. This has caused the water in the machine to startboiling before it has reached the required temperature, which prevents themachine from functioning properly. Switch the machine off and do not useit at altitudes higher than 2200 m/6800 ft. above sea level. The coffee machine must be flushed with water before using it for thefirst time, so that the boiler will be completely filled with water. Flushthe coffee machine (see 'Preparing the machine for use') before youstart brewing coffee.Make sure that the water reservoir has been properly placed;Make sure that there is enough water in the water reservoir (waterlevel above the ° MIN level if you want to brew one 4.0 oz. cup andabove °° if you want to brew one 8.0 oz. mug or two 4.0 oz. cups);Make sure that the ambient temperature is not lower than 10cC/50cF.If it is lower, the appliance will not function properly.Make sure that the lid is properly closed (the lever must be properly locked);Make sure that the water reservoir has not been filled beyond the MAX level;Make sure that the sieve in the center of the coffee pod holder is notclogged. If it is, unclog the sieve by holding the coffee pod holder undera running tap. If necessary, you can use a soft brush, pin or a toothpickto unclog the sieve;Make sure the coffee pod(s) has/have been put properly in the centerof the coffee pod holder with the flat Senseo side up;Make sure the sealing ring has not gotten stuck under the edge ofthe metal distribution disk (see drawing at the beginning of theseinstructions for use);Make sure that the drip tray does not overflow. It is unlikely that it willoverflow, but it is easier to empty when half full than full.It is perfectly normal for some drops of water to spill onto the counter. This may happen, for instance, when you place or remove the waterreservoir. Be careful when removing used coffee pods, for there may stillbe some water on the pods.ProblemThe indicator light continues to blink slowlyThe Senseo coffee machine does notproduce coffee when used for the first timeThe indicator light continues to blink rapidlyWater leaks from the coffee machine4222.200.0290.1_DFU.indd 15 3/26/09 11:04:01 AM
