54 55CHAPTER 7 ALARMSPICTURE 6-11RUNNING PTZ FUNCTIONSClicking on the Page Switch button in the PTZ Control Panel (Picture 6-5) will switch to anew window (Picture 6-11) which allows you to activate the functions created above as wellas the Auto Pan and Flip functions.Enter the number of the function you wish toactivate and select the function button to runthat function.In addition, there are other functions that canbe engaged in this window.AutoPan - This will cause the camera toautomatically rotate.Flip - Most PTZ cameras have a mechanicalstop which will prevent the camerafrom rotating a full 360°. If the camerais tracking someone or some thingand it reaches this stop, pressing Flipwill bring the camera around the otherdirection to continue tracking. SomePTZ cameras have “E-flip” which willdo this automatically.Page Switch - returns you to the PTZControl Panel (Picture 6-5)Reset - This ends the currently runningfunction.NO C1NO C21 2 3 4 5 6 7 8A BCNTRL12VALARM INThis DVR features connections for external alarms – both input and output. When an event isdetected the system can notify local users or send notification to a monitoring service. At thesame time, the system can accept signals from motion detectors, smoke detectors or otheralarms and begin recording based on that input and your settings.You will need to have the manual for your alarm(s) handy to ensure the proper settings withinthe DVR.ALARMS CHAPTER 77.1 ALARM INPUTWhen attaching alarms, the following criteriamust be met:1. The alarm input must be grounded.2. A grounding signal is required for thealarm input3.
